Statement
The motion of travel, compressed through a car or train window, turns a stable horizon into an ephemeral sequence of light and form. The terrain becomes less a destination and more a record of experience. Working in oil, I build foundation layers and then focus on color, mood, and composition to define a space that feels both knowable and elusive. While informed by place, my recent work captures the searching space between the physical land and the internal landscape, and explore the tension between grounding and transience.
